Julia Roberts has the most famous smile in the world, the kind that can light up a room and disarm you with its dazzle. So the beloved actor was a natural fit to embody the joy and sparkle of a legendary watch, Chopard’s Happy Sport. In 1993, the maison’s now-co-president and artistic director, Caroline Scheufele, set out to create the ultimate multitasker for the modern woman. “I wanted a watch I could wear all day long: at the gym, in the office or for a dinner in town,” she explained.
And so the Happy Sport was born, a timepiece defined by seven dancing diamonds that float freely between two sapphire crystal sheets, a stainless-steel case and a chic pebble-link bracelet. For 2021, the piece has been reimagined as Happy Sport the First, with two new limited-edition models that feature in-house automatic movement.
“I’m honoured to be collaborating with Chopard on the Happy Sport watch, one of the most iconic and desirable models in the industry,” says Roberts, who takes the stage in the campaign film, dancing footloose and fancy-free, just like the diamonds whirling around the watch. It’s pure luxury combined with lightness and levity – and guaranteed to make you smile.
