The designer, who has been womenswear artistic director for the past five years, used the occasion to showcase a stunning, minimalist Autumn/Winter 2018 collection, inspired by New York-based artist Robert Morris.

Instead of the usual NYFW runway show, BOSS instead held a presentation with models walking a dimly lit runway to stand on a podium.

Another notable difference was the decision to leave models of the moment – such as Kaia Gerber, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid – from the line-up, instead, keeping the focus solely on the collection.
And as far as that collection goes, colours such as royal blue and pale yellow sat amongst a darker palette of grey and black hues, with feminine silhouettes meeting raw-cut edges.
