H&M has established quite the reputation for their collaborations with some of fashion’s most coveted designer labels.
Having already produced successful lines with Balmain, Isabel Marant, Versace and Mugler earlier this year, just to name a few, the high-street fashion juggernaut is now partnering with Paco Rabanne in a collection that’s destined to be everywhere this party season.
The Spanish designer, who rose to fame in the 1960s, is synonymous with metallic, space-age pieces, the most recognizable of which is the brand’s chainmail mini dress and matching bag.
The announcement of H&M’s next collaboration came during Paris Fashion Week, of course, at an exclusive party held by the retailer in legendary nightclub Silencio.
The star-studded event gave fans of the brand a small glimpse into the collection’s potential with attendees like Dave Bennett and Elle Fanning donning the shiny, in the most literal sense of the word, new looks.
Now, H&M has unveiled the key looks from its collaboration with Paco Rabanne, which is due to drop in major stores as well as online on November 9, in a collection that perfectly capsulates the essence of an original Rabanne piece.
“I approached this collection with a desire to create an inclusive, instinctive vision of fun, drawing out the playful side of Rabanne with the chainmail and sequin pieces and offsetting them with 1970s tailoring and leisurewear,” Julien Dossena, creative director of Rabanne says of the collection.
H&M X Paco Rabanne will follow the brand’s iconic aesthetic with pieces crafted in genuine leather, wool and mohair in sleek silhouettes adorned in their classic embellishment style. Highlights we’re already eyeing off include rhinestone embellished chiffon gowns, metallic mesh two-pieces and bold geometric printed knit sets.
