Another couture week has wrapped. Sad face. We will miss the grandeur, the gowns and the gossip, and most of all we will miss the sight of Celine Dion zipping around Paris in her new wardrobe.

It was the (European) summer of Celine. Every day there was another surprising fashion coup from the artist who once wore a back-to-front tuxedo suit to the Oscars. Thanks to her new partnership with stylist Law Roach, we never knew what to expect. And if there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to these style choices – ladylike one day, skater girl the next – there’s no denying it was fun.

We loved her emerald green Gucci coat with silk flower detail. We gave her floor-length black and white floral Giambattista Valli dress the thumbs up. And we thought she looked très chic in her sculptural black Dior jacket and leather pants.

That diamond-patterned coat she wore with skinny jeans? It was Fendi, and she had the bag to match. The acid green dress and biker jacket combo was Balenciaga. But the pièce de résistance of Dion’s Paris fashion makeover has to be…the Vetements makeunder! The edgy collective headed up by Demna Gvasalia was behind Dion’s oversized slacker sweatshirt. That it featured a graphic from Titanic proved she has a sense of humour about it all – which is, of course, fashion’s greatest accessory.
