The Gucci Cruise 2025 show, helmed by Sabato De Sarno, took place at the iconic Tate Modern in London and was a stunning homage to the city’s vibrant cultural scene.
As De Sarno’s first Cruise show as Gucci’s Creative Director, he drew heavily from London’s eclectic mix of history and modernity, creating a collection that bridged these elements seamlessly.
The collection itself was a dynamic mix of sharp tailoring and whimsical details. De Sarno showcased everything from crisp, technical jackets paired with floral patterns to delicate chiffons and lace combined with protective outerwear. The pieces played with contrasts, blending strength with delicacy, and formal elements with casual touches.
Accessories featured iconic Gucci elements, like horsebit details and the transformation of the lobster clasp into elegant pearl necklaces.
The show also saw a reimagining of staples including tartan, which was revitalised through intricate beadwork. The use of denim and flat shoes added a practical yet stylish twist, making the collection versatile and modern.
The setting of the Tate Modern, once a power station, provided a perfect backdrop for this fusion of heritage and contemporary design. The venue echoed the themes of transformation and innovation central to De Sarno’s vision for Gucci.
In the audience were notable figures like Kate Moss, Dua Lipa, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal and Little Simz.
