Four Australian Models Whose Careers Started With A Model Search

The Unsigned Model Search is back for another year, with Designed Brands Cosmetics and Icon Management already opening registrations for the annual search for more diverse modelling talent. The DB Cosmetics X ICON Management Unsigned Model Search is an annual affair seeking up to eight people to front DB Cosmetics’ ‘I Design Me’ campaign, with winners receiving a contract with ICON model management. The search places an emphasis on diversity, with the only requirements being that applicants be over the age of 18. Per the call-out, people of all sizes, ethnicities and abilities encouraged to apply.

The event has attracted major talent in the past, with ambassadors and hosts including Maria Thattil, Robyn Lawley, Jess King and Jack Vidgen. This year, the contest will invite Home & Away actress Sarah Roberts into the role. marie claire‘s Editor Georgie Abay will help judge the 2024 search, alongside ICON Management Founder and CEO, Chelsea Bonner, Total Beauty Network CEO, Liz Webster, Ambassador Sarah Roberts, Total Beauty Network CMO, Amanda Connors, and the Daily Telegraph’s Entertainment Editor Jonathon Moran.

On top of being an interior designer and creative, Onella has found a successful modelling career after winning the Unsigned Model Search. She has walked at both Melbourne and Sydney fashion weeks, and fronted campaigns for Sportsgirl, Stax, Bonds, Nike, Lululemon and more.

Alysia Salley

Alysia was most recently a finalist in Miss Universe Australia 2024, so we can expect her star to continue rising. The 21-year-old has Greek and West African heritage, and is also studying for a career in computer forensics.
