McGrath Foundation CEO Holly Masters is a good listener. Since she began her role in 2017, Masters has heard the stories of thousands of women going through cancer. She’s told that when a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, there are typically only two places where they feel they can really fall apart. Alone in the shower. Or with a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse. McGrath Foundation’s nurses are available without a referral, at no cost, to support women and their families throughout their cancer journey.
To mark Pink Pony Day at the Australian Open, marie claire editor Georgie McCourt hosted a special evening inside the very chic Hampton’s inspired Ralph Lauren marquee with a group of inspirational women (human rights lawyer Jennifer Robinson, comedian Aurelia St Clair, performer Gorgi Coghlan, designer Pip Edwards, actor and writer Krew Boylan and Lulibody founder Rebecca Harding, all stylishly dressed head-to-toe in Ralph Lauren) to learn more about the Ralph Lauren Pink Pony mission. The initiative’s purpose centers on a simple yet powerful premise — that early, high-quality cancer care should be available to all, regardless of socioeconomic status.
This year is also the first time that the Pink Pony collection is available to purchase at the Ralph Lauren Rod Laver Arena Store in Melbourne, and 25% of each item purchased is donated to the McGrath Foundation. “When someone we love has cancer, we are all affected—husbands, wives, mothers and fathers, sisters, brothers, and friends. This is our effort in the fight against cancer,” Mr Lauren himself says.
Blending style and substance is something Ralph Lauren has always done seamlessly – and creating connections is at the heart of the marie claire brand. What an evening to remember.
