It’s safe to say that Meghan Markle is the woman of the moment, and from tying the knot to Prince Harry in May and embarking on one of the most successful royal tours of all time, to her exciting baby news (due in Spring 2019), she has to be the most talked-about woman in the world.
Already proving to have as much influence as the Kate Middleton Effect, fans and followers are modelling their looks on the Duchess of Sussex, crashing a Canadian fashion site to buy her engagement coat, styling their hair in the MM cut, and even asking cosmetic surgeons for the Meghan Markle nose.
The Meghan Markle Effect even caused a 400% increase in traffic to Canadian jeweller Birks’ website earlier this year.
But news emerged this week that there are two high profile women that carry more fashion influence – and to be honest, we couldn’t have called it.
Lyst’s annual ‘Year in Fashion 2018’ report shows that the 37-year-old came in third place, behind Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian.
“On average, if Meghan wears a designer, that brand will see a +200 per cent increase in search demand over the following week,” Lyst explained of Meghan’s high ranking.
Next came Serena Williams, Blake lively and Cardi B.
Proof that the Meghan Markle effect is still alive and well!
