Then, there’s the thrill of finding designer vintage pieces, like diamonds in the rough, that add to the excitement of the shopping experience.

The growing re-sale market has seen Facebook Marketplace, Depop, The RealReal, and of course, the original site for selling our pre-loved pieces, eBay, become the go-to for new wardrobe additions. The only caution that remains when thrift shopping revolves around authenticity.

Between genuine replicas, carefully-worded descriptions and flat-out fakes and scammers, shoppers hunting for authentic designers gems need be weary. From inspecting logos to assessing quality of design and even sniffing the leather, the shopping site has employed authenticators to give designers listings the tick of approval.

Considering eBay sees a new handbag listed from cult luxury brands like Louis Vuitton to Prada and Gucci listed every two minutes, it’s a welcome addition for those hunting down designer pieces.

And when you’re ready to re-sell your handbag, it’s never been easier. Scan your authentication card with your phone and you can re-list the item on eBay in just a few clicks,” she added.
