In news that’ll have fashion girls everywhere dusting off their credit cards, Dior has just brought back one of its most iconic bags of all time.
After reaching cult status in the early 2000s – worn by everyone from Beyonce to Carrie Bradshaw – the French fashion house debuted the updated version of its saddle bag on the runway at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year.
Updated with a cross-body strap that’ll have Meghan Markle wishing she didn’t have to follow royal style rules, the revisited saddle bag comes finished in monochrome covered by the Dior logo, ’70s inspired patchwork and leather in bright, contrasting colours.
On reintroducing the saddle bag, Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri explained: “I consider this icon of the house’s recent history the perfect accessory to deal with daily life. The saddle bag is so comfortable to wear with its long strap that you almost forget it’s there.”
“[It’s] also practical because it allows you to carry everything you need with you,” Grazia Chiuri continued. “It’s for this reason that I wanted it larger and more robust, but also very colourful, embroidered or with a beaded fringe… It adapts to all situations.”
The saddle bag is available in Dior boutiques Australia wide from today onwards.
