From just looking at photos, you’d assume the rain was a prop of Dior’s Cruise 2019 show in Paris, but the open air show was literally hit by a rainstorm.
Taking place just outside Paris at the Musée Vivant du Cheval à Chantilly, models braved the weather and walked in the pouring rain accompanied by horses to set the scene of a Mexican rodeo.
Attendees included celebrities such as Paris Jackson, Billie Lourd, and Aimee Song, as well as Camila Coelho and Chiara Ferragni.
But just minutes into the show, Jackson was seen leaving the front row and walking out barefoot.
WWD reported that the 20-year-old “huffed out barefoot, having earlier asked two assistants to help her out of her high-heeled sandals. Whether the issue was animal welfare, or simply an extreme aversion to rain, was not clear”.
Minutes later, she took to Instagram with a caption simply stating: “Left early n did this.”
Of the collection, Dior said designer Maria Grazia Chiuri was “inspired by the Amazons and more particularly the escaramuzas: Mexican female riders who practice an art traditional reserved for men while asserting their femininity, wearing full skirts and imposing hats.”
