Spring has officially sprung, and with it, some of the most illustrious events in the Melbourne social calendar—the Spring Racing Carnival.
Derby Day commences the festivities, being the first of four functions in the Melbourne Cup carnival and arguably the most stylish.
Hosted on Saturday at Flemington Racecourse, the celebrity style set flocked to the green and members’ stands, the unequivocal dress code never wavering with the best of black and white fashion on display.
While this compulsory monochromatic custom may seem limiting at first, Melbourne’s lauded fashion crowd showcased that these rules are anything but. We placed our bets on a show stopping display of glamour and luxury and the crowd certainly delivered.
Although COVID restrictions meant the revaliries were kept to a minimum, the celebrations were upheld both on and off the field, with some of the best frocks donned from afar.
