While several brands are pressing pause on fashion weeks around the world in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, other industry leaders are continuing to find new and innovative ways to connect with consumers.
Fashion Unites is the world’s first online celebrity catwalk show, which will see the likes of Kim Kardashian West, Irina Shayk, Hailey Bieber, Carolyn Murphy, Natasha Poly, Eva Herzigova, Ashley Graham, Anok Yai, Winnie Harlow, Stella Maxwell, and Halima Aden walk the ‘at-home’ runway to raise funds for COVID-19 relief.
Spearheaded by Carine Roitfeld in collaboration with the newly created amfAR Fund to Fight COVID-19, the self-filmed fashion show will offer 30 minutes of uplifting home entertainment for the fashion-obsessed as we all continue to do our part to flatten the curve.
“As we face times of great uncertainty, our support for one another is more important than ever,” says Roitfeld. “Embracing fashion as the creative expression through which to support the health and safety of our global communities, we hope this show can offer a small moment of hope, inspiration, and uplifting connection. A modest contribution as our world unites to collectively weather the storm of this pandemic together.”
Models will dig deep into their own closets to craft looks for the show via video consultation with Roitfeld and her team. The show will also feature “exclusive tributes and messages of hope and gratitude” from so of the industry’s biggest designers, including fashion heavyweights Virgil Abloh, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Simon Porte Jacquemus and Diana von Fürstenberg.
Fashion Unites will be available to stream on Saturday, May 2 at 6:00 am AEST via YouTube. For more information, click here.
