Sometimes, when fashion is just so beautiful, we feel like crying. Maybe it’s a perfectly placed sequin, a beautifully cut pattern or a colour that just blows us away, we understand the deep, deep need to show emotion when something is just so, well, stunning.
Now, icon of our time and haute couture queen, Celine Dion, has taken that emotion and expressed it to the world, crying just as we wish we could during Valentino’s spring show overnight.
Ever chic and always polished, Dion was caught shedding a tear about halfway through the show, as models (40 of which were black, out of a total cast of 65) walked the runway in a host of exquisite, ethereal outfits.
The collection, which is being heavily lauded by critics and fans alike, featured everything from gorgeous pastel separates, floral evening pieces and gem-hued, red-carpet-ready ballgowns, basically made for Lady Gaga to be stepping out at the Oscars in. It was a standout collection (and show) from the brand’s designer, Pierpaolo Piccioli, which honoured everything we’ve come to love about the brand: diversity, incredible craftsmanship and theatrics included. Naomi Campbell’s finale walk was really just the cherry on top. No questions, then, why Dion burst into tears.
But it wasn’t the only show Dion was moved by. More footage has emerged of the singer becoming speechless during the Armani Privé show, which you can watch below.
Oh Celine, your heart really does go on!
