On May 19th, Meghan Markle surprised everyone when she stepped onto the steps of Windsor Castle wearing a wedding dress designed by French fashion house Givenchy.
It was widely assumed that Meghan would pick a British designer to create her wedding gown with Ralph & Russo and Erdem clear favourites.
However, the Duchess of Sussex honoured her new title and homeland in more ways than one: Givenchy designer Clare Waight Keller is originally from Britain and Meghan had a flower from all 53 countries of the Commonwealth handsewn onto her five-metre-long veil.
The new addition to the royal family isn’t the only famous bride to chose the Parisian house for their big day.
