In what was the most highly anticipated show on this season’s London schedule, Riccardo Tisci has launched his modern vision for British heritage brand, Burberry. The 134 look collection was categorised into three sections – refined, relaxed and evening – and branched across both men’s and womenswear.
In the beginning, the new direction appeared rigidly classic as models (including Kendall Jenner) showcased modest silhouettes in feminine fabrications.
Yet by look 65, it was clear Tisci had another direction in mind as he delved into styles heavily referencing Britain’s punk era of the ’70s.
In the end, black mary janes, leather miniskirts and studded detailing balanced sophisticated tailoring and elegance as Tisci strove to restore a sense of inclusivity remarking the brand as one that celebrated both style types.
