Bride Asks Bridesmaid To Have An Abortion Due To Her ‘Kid Free’ Wedding

Excuse us?

When you hear stories about bridezillas, it’s usually in the context of throwing floral arrangements, having meltdowns a week out from the wedding or forcing their bridesmaids into dresses they don’t like. They don’t usually include a bride suggesting her friend get an abortion to ensure her wedding was kid free.

Say what?

According to The Sun, one woman was asked to do just that. A former bridesmaid has taken to a bridal forum to share her story of getting pregnant while in the bridal party for a woman named Kate. As per the story, once the woman announced she was having a baby to her best friend, the bride, Kate flipped and asked for her to consider terminating the pregnancy.

“About a year before the wedding, I found out I was pregnant. I was always told I couldn’t have kids and so obviously my daughter was not planned but I was over the moon,” she wrote in the closed forum.

“So I told Kate, expecting excitement, right? Nope. She immediately told me that I was going to be so stressed trying to get my bridesmaid dress fitting on my own since I’d have to do it after everyone already had theirs (I was due in April, wedding was in June).”

Aside from being unhappy she would ruin the bridesmaids fittings, Kate went one step further and asked for the woman to consider delaying the pregnancy for another reason: her kid free policy.

“She reminded me that it was a kid free wedding, and then after thoroughly explaining how difficult her wedding would be for me, she said (verbatim) ‘so don’t you think it might be better for you to have an abortion?’ I had to read that one a few times.”

“So (obviously) I didn’t speak to her again, got a wedding invite and never sent the RSVP back, and her eight months pregnant future SIL took my place as bridesmaid, she ended up with dresses that easily would’ve accommodated my postpartum body.”

Next time you have a bridezilla in the midst, remember nothing could be quite as bad as this — because telling someone to have an abortion is definitely not ok.
