It seems that even celebrities aren’t immune to the Meghan Effect. Over the weekend, Blake Lively was spotted wearing the exact coat royal bride-to-be Meghan Markle wore earlier this year.
The camel Smythe coat was worn by Meghan when she attended a royal engagement in January with her soon-to-be husband Prince Harry.
Naturally, Meghan’s entire ensemble sold out within hours of it being seen on the former Suits actress, but being a famous celebrity has its perks: Blake Lively managed to get her hands on the highly sought-after coat, wearing it to an Easter party at Martha Stewart’s New York home.
Swapping the prince for her eldest daughter James, and the messy bun for a low-plait, Lively looked stunning in a pleated floral midi-length skirt, a fitting turtleneck and green suede boots.
Remember, she’s one of the rare Hollywood actresses who dresses herself without the help of a stylist.
Here’s hoping their similar style – and the fact that they have both been professional actresses – leads Lively and Markle to form a friendship. Now, that’s a duo that would be serious goals.
