Our Favourite Looks From Bassike’s Most Effortless Collection Yet

Senior Fashion Editor Chloe Buttenshaw rounds up her highlights

Effortlessness and wearable — this is how I would describe Bassike’s resort 2020 collection. Shown at the Apollo restaurant on Day 2 of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, I loved the bursts of colour and the playfulness of this collection.

“Overall, the shapes in the mainline collection are playful and feminine, there’s cut out back and side details and cropped tie front tops,” bassike designers Deborah Sams and Mary Lou Ryan told marie claire. “Standouts for us are the green and white motley print in the signature compact cotton, I love the crispness and volume in this fabric. I also love the textured cotton jacquard stripe that comes through in a few pieces, it’s super luxe as well as wearable.”

A range built around versatility and longevity, this inherently wearable collection is what women want to wear — now and always. I loved the tie dyed print and the cute-as-a-button details on a simple cotton dress. This summer you will definitely see me in the pale yellow pieces! See my top five looks below.
