Swimwear Label Aqua Blu Proves Diversity Belongs On The Runway

Pushing boundaries, one suit at a time

Australian swimwear label Aqua Blu continued its fashion reign thanks to its groundbreaking Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia show earlier this year. Debuting a collection aptly named Eden, the resort 2020 show was all about prints, making a statement and sticking to what they know best; vibrant colours, free-flowing silhouettes and shapes that continue to innovate from the classic one piece.

From the creative brain of Kristian Chase, Aqua Blu’s latest endeavour closing out Miami Swim Week 2019 proved the brands love of motion, colour and diversity are here to stay. Featuring statement prints, varied colourways and flattering cuts, the show took place at the iconic Faena Forum, Miami.

Chase once again created a diverse runway with bold and beautiful models of all sizes—a first of its kind for Miami Swim Week.

The swimwear label had Aussie model and body-positive advocate Latecia Thomas close the show wearing a stunning custom made velvet navy blue embellished bodysuit with tulle skirt. Thomas also wore a bespoke Angelina Alvarez Design crown.

Proving the catwalk is not just for size 0 supermodels Thomas joined models of all shapes, sizes and ethnicities to showcase Resort 2020. Below, Aqua Blu’s best moments from Miami Swim Week.
