Anna Quan was a welcome breath of fresh air on day three of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. The collection, in which Quan drew inspiration from the 1930s, was a true depiction of clothing woman actually want to wear — tonal, tactile and timeless, designed to outlast seasonal trends.
We were treated to a live installation at Carol Crawford Sculpture Studio where fresh-faced models posed in Quan’s resort ’20 collection. Shirred waistband dresses, pinstripe short suits and ribbed knit midi skirts were among the stand out pieces. Quan, describing the mood of the collection as “relaxed resort holiday” had us instantly transported to a warmer climate.
While still staying true to the core DNA of the brand “minimalism meets understated luxury”, Quan gave us a glimpse into what we can expect next noting we can “look forward to being adventurous and giving the wearer something we didn’t know we needed”. If this is any indication, we can’t wait.
