Created in collaboration with OMEGA, the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission To The Super Blue MoonPhase timepiece is a celebration of the festive atmosphere of summer and the promise of new horizons.
The new watch is the latest release from the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection and features Swatch’s patented Bioceramic material – a unique mix of two-thirds ceramic and one-third biosourced materials produced from castor oil.
Not only does the Mission To The Super Blue MoonPhase MoonSwatch include a chronograph function, but it’s also equipped with a blue pulsometer scale with white markers on the Bioceramic bezel, adding a subtle style statement and aesthetic allure.
The pulsometer scale allows the wearer to easily view their heart rate without the need for time-consuming calculations. The function – originally designed for doctors and nurses – is activated with a simple stopping of the chronograph hand after 30 beats, when the dial reveals the wearers heart rate per minute.
The multi-shade blue moon phase function is powered with UV ink and set against a dark celestial-black background visible from the two o’clock subdial. Two oversized blue moons are visible under the moon phase mask and disc, where a secret detail appears under UV light.
The unique moon phase indicator is designed to accurately depict which of the eight different moon phases – or shapes – is currently present at any given time of the lunar cycle.
Designed to stand out, the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission To The Super Blue MoonPhase’s tonal blue finish and contrasting panda dial highlights the silver-opaline dial against the stunning blue subdials.
The Mission To The Super Blue MoonPhase watch is fitted with a deep blue Velcro strap with contrasting light blue top stitching and a blue Bioceramic attachment loop.
And as with all dials in the MoonSwatch collection, the iconic Omega X Swatch branding is featured across the model, fusing iconic elements with modern materiality.
While the fresh take on OMEGA’s legendary Speedmaster Moonwatch – the first watch on the moon – may not transport you into a new galactic realm, the latest addition offers a chance to harness the power of celestial energy much closer to home.
