Deconstructed shirting

โ€œEveryone from Jacquemus, Balenciaga and Vetements to Sacai and Ellery has been breaking down the shirt. It translates well to the Australian market โ€“ itโ€™s comfortable and really cool. A man-style oversized shirt, maybe with longer sleeves and in a thick stripe or plain white, is an easy way to try it โ€“ you can belt it, wear it as a dress with heels, knot it up or tuck it into a longline skirt.โ€

1980s redux

โ€œDemna Gvasalia [founder of Vetements and Balenciaga creative director] has been reconfiguring โ€™80s, Maison Margiela-esque influences for the here and now, and itโ€™s taking the world by storm.โ€

The Gucci effect

โ€œThe luxury vintage look is all about mixing and matching prints, loads of floral and 70โ€™s-inspired opulent, textured fabrics that are re-constructed with extreme craftsmanship.โ€

Modern minimalism

โ€œPhoebe Philo designs the ultimate โ€˜classic with a twistโ€™ pieces at Celine, and has been at fashionโ€™s forefront for years.โ€

Rockโ€™nโ€™roll chic

โ€œSaint Laurent has been leading the luxe, sensual, glamorous moment that weโ€™re having. I really love the idea of separating evening looks from day looks โ€“ for a long time it was about being functional and pragmatic, going straight from work to a function or dinner. But now people want to get dressed up, look fabulous and really feel their best.โ€
