In July, news broke that everyone’s favourite childhood movie, Little Women, was getting a remake with a star-studded cast.
Cast members are rumoured to include the likes of Ladybird stars Saorise Ronan and Timothee Chamalet, as well as Academy Award-winning actress, Meryl Streep.
The first filming pictures have just hit social media, but with an interesting twist – Emma Watson has been seen dressed as the eldest sister in the story, Meg March.
Emma Stone was originally rumoured to be playing the role of Meg, however Watson has been spotted in full Meg March style while on set in Boston – including the carpet bag.
While the full cast list hasn’t been officially confirmed, fingers are crossed that the rumours are right – Meryl Streep playing the March sisters’ mother, and Saoirse Ronan playing independent sister, Jo.
While the remake of the classic Louisa May Alcott tale isn’t set to hit cinemas until 2019, filming looks well and truly underway.
In the meantime, last year the BBC created a mini-series adaptation, and there’s always the 1994 movie that starred Winona Ryder, Claire Danes and Kirsten Dunst.
