We’re only one day into 2019 and already Chrissy Teigen has showcased exactly why she’s everyone’s favourite celebrity. During a live New Year’s Eve broadcast from Times Square, Teigen lent over to hug Leslie Jones, but instead was hit in the face by an umbrella, rebounding with hilarious facial expressions, all of which was caught on camera.
As the ball dropped at midnight, Jones’ clear umbrella bashed Teigen squarely in the face, prompting an amazing reaction by the mother-of-two:
The next morning, Jones took to Twitter to write: “Ugh I can’t believe I hit @chrissyteigen in face!! Lordt!! I love you boo!! So sorry!! #thatswhyihateumbrellas”
To which Teigen replied: “EYE’M FINE BABY I hug too hard what can I say.”
In true Teigen fashion, she followed the post up with a joke, writing: “7am. Heading back out to time’s square to find my eyeball.”
Naturally, the moment quickly became a meme on Twitter:
