When Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced the end of their eight-year marriage in August 2017, hearts broke the world over. Was love officially dead? It looked that way.
โAnna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and weโre really disappointed,โ Chris shared to Facebook at the time.
But apart from that bleak announcement, Pratt has never spoken publicly about the high-profile split โ until now.

โDivorce sucks,โ Pratt told Entertainment Weekly. โBut at the end of the day, weโve got a great kid whoโs got two parents who love him very much. And weโre finding a way to navigate this while still remaining friends and still being kind to one another. Itโs not ideal, but yeah, I think both of us are actually probably doing better.โ
Faris has previously opened up about the former coupleโs co-parenting arrangement, telling E! News in January: โI think the key is surrounding him with a lot of joy and happiness, which he has a ton of.โ
The actress has also spoken about her new views on marriage after walking down the aisle twice.
โI need to figure out what the purpose is,โ the 41-year-old explained on friend Dax Shepardโs podcast. โIs it safety for your children? Is it convention? Is it so other people respect your relationship more?โ
Faris added: โFor me, Iโm just not quite sure where it fitsโฆI am a romantic. I believe in a partnership, I believe in companionship. I just donโt know if I believe in a ceremony of a wedding.โ
