In May 2019, actor Jude Law surprised fans when he married his long-term girlfriend, Phillipa Coan, in an under-the-radar ceremony.
In pictures obtained by The Sun, Law and Coan are seen marrying at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London.
The groom wore a blue crushed velvet suit with matching blue suede shoes and a fedora, while the bride wore a ruffled cream dress.
She accessorised with a netted cream fascinator, beige suede pumps and a posy of wildflowers.
But apart from nailing the ‘courthouse chic’ brief, just who is Phillipa Coan?
She’s a “business psychologist and behaviour change specialist”
That’s Dr Coan to you. According to her website, Coan describes herself as a psychologist and business founder. She holds a PhD in environmental behaviour change and founded her organisation, STRIDE, which specialises in employee engagement.
She’s also a member of the British Psychological Society’s Division of Occupational Psychology.
She started dating Law in 2015
While it’s unknown how the two met, we know that they officially began dating in early 2015. They were first seen together at the Hay Festival, where she walked the red carpet with Law.
She’s British
Phillipa—who goes by ‘Pippa’—is from the U.K. like her new husband. She’s 32-years-old.
He loves that she’s not in entertainment
In 2015, a report by the Daily Mail noted that “he’s serious about her. He loves how intelligent Pippa is and finds it refreshing to date a girl who is not from his showbiz world. He’s pretty smitten and doesn’t want to mess it up.”
She’s now step-mother to Law’s five children
Although it’s unknown whether she has children of her own, Coan is now stepmother to Law’s five children, including his children with Sadie Frost, Rafferty, Rudy and Iris; his daughter Sophia with model Samantha Burke; and daughter Ada with Catherine Harding.
