While Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively tend to keep their interviews focused on their work (and trolling each other), the actor has used his latest chat to get candid about raising three small daughters.
The couple are parents to James, Inez and Betty, and even Reynolds admits he “never in a million years would have imagined” raising all girls.
While promoting his new film The Croods: A New Age, the actor caught up with Mario Lopez’s children for Access Hollywood, sharing: “I come from all boys. I have three older brothers. I’m the youngest of four boys so for me to have three daughters has been such a ride. I love every second of it.”
Reynolds added he “love[s] being a girl dad.”
When asked what his best parenting tip would be, the Deadpool actor explained: “I just try to be as present as possible. We don’t split up like I shoot movies and my wife shoots movies and we go travel all over the place and we just all go together. I think that’s been the best part of it is that we really don’t spend a lot of time apart. I get to spend a lot of time with my girls.”
And when asked if the women in his real-life family are “superheroes” like in his movie, Reynolds couldn’t help but gush about his wife and daughters.
“No joke, they are the most capable people I know,” he said. “If anything got crazy or scary in my life, they are the first people I would lean on because they have wisdom and strength and they’re calm under fire. They have courage under fire. That, to me sounds like a true story.”
Aww!
