In 2015, actress Meghan Markle gave British journalist Piers Morgan an insight into her early career aspirations.
“As a kid, I wanted to be either the President or a news broadcaster like you,” she told Morgan.
And now, rumours are swirling that the new Duchess still has those political ambitions—and wants to run for president.
“Meghan was quite clear that she wanted to be president one day,” a source told The Daily Mail.
The Suits star is planning to become a full British citizen after tying the knot with Prince Harry on May 19, but is still currently a US citizen.
But Kensington Palace has been very quick to shut down the reports of Markle’s presidential plan, with a representative telling Yahoo News: “The conversation you describe with an associate is fictitious”.
Sorry to break the news to everyone already mocking up their ‘Markle 2020’ placards, but you won’t need them.
