Stacey Hampton was accused of ignoring her husband Michael Goonan during their Married At First Sight wedding reception until she found out he was a millionaire businessman, so it will probably come as no surprise that these two had another massive blow-up on their honeymoon.

Michael went out with some other couples at their fancy Fijian resort and said he “got a bit wasted”, turned into a “bit of a dick” and was “arrogant” to Stacey, who has become the “villain” of this year’s show.
Rather than face the music the next morning with a fuming Stacey, he headed straight out for a run with a guy he met on honeymoon.
“My idea of fun is having a good time, getting a bit loose, loosening up, you know?” Michael tells the camera. “But Stacey doesn’t loosen up. Stacey is a surfboard, she is a plank.
“Do you think I wanted to get up and go for a run this morning? I didn’t want to go for a run. I had a few drinks on me last night. I nearly threw up all over Fiji!”
But Stacey wasn’t about to let it go.
“You’re a joke, you’re embarrassing, you embarrassed me,” she tells him, as they lie in bed in their honeymoon suite going over the incident with MAFS producers and a camera crew watching on.
“I’m swallowing my pride and I am apologising,” Michael pleaded, but Stacey was in a sook.
“You could have Shakespeare out here and he couldn’t make a better apology than I just said,” Michael claimed. “That was from the heart.”
“You could bring down mountains with your words,” Michael told Stacey. “You are a scary person to wake up to … you’re intimidating.”
She said “in the real world” she would “block” his number and never speak to him again, but because they are in Nine’s “experiment” she agrees to go jet-skiing with him, after a lot of grovelling from Michael.
“I hope a shark gets you,” she half-jokes (we think?).
The 26-year-old law graduate revealed that she’s been through a lot of trauma in her life.
Her father died by suicide when she was a baby. Her brother became like a father figure to her but he was killed in a motorcycle crash on the same day she was due to give birth to her eldest son.
In an unlikely move for Stacey, she opens up to Michael about the tragedies in her past over a picturesque picnic.
“I hope tragedy is forever finished in her life and she will sail into peace and happiness because she deserves it more than anyone else, she deserves it more than me,” he said, as he hugged his tearful bride.
“If I had a chance to give happiness away, I would say, ‘Stacey have it, you deserve it,” he added.
“For me to tell him that quiet soon is a big thing I don’t like talking about it,” she said.
“I feel a lot more comfortable getting intimate with him now that I can open up to him.”
The heart-to-heart made everyone loosen up and that night they officially became the first couple to consummate their marriage in this year’s experiment.
