Even Gwyneth Paltrow shared which one made her the most uncomfortable

Whether you are a romance lover or not, there’s nothing quite like a rom-com kiss.

And for alums Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, their pairing was the go-to in almost every memorable romantic comedy. But according to Hudson, their smooch scenes weren’t her favourite.

Appearing on the latest episode of Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Goop podcast, the Fabletics co-founder and Paltrow got extremely candid about their most famous—and worst—on-screen hookups.

“I feel like I kind of haven’t had the best kissers. I feel like I should have had better ones,” Hudson admitted.

While Hudson has shared many on-screen kisses with McConaughey, she revealed that the exact circumstances of said smooches tended to ruin the magic between the two.

“The thing is, every time I kiss McConaughey, it’s like, I mean, it’s like there’s just something happening and there’s like snot or wind, or things are just… like when we were kissing in the end of Fool’s Gold, we’re like, in the ocean, we like, had the plane crash,” she said. “He just had snot all over his face.”

However, it wasn’t all bad news. Hudson did divulge that Billy Crudup, her co-star in Almost Famous, was in fact a “good kisser,” despite fans never witnessing the scene as it was cut from the film.

“You know who was a good kisser, but you didn’t see it cause they cut it out? Was Billy,” she said. “Billy was good. That was good.” Paltrow agreed, saying, “He looked like he would be a good kisser.”

Also being an accomplished actress, Paltrow offered her own ‘worst’ kiss to the discussion. Calling Robert Downey Jr., her Iron Man co-star, one of the most uncomfortable kisses she’s had.

“Like with Robert, like when I kissed him and I was like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me,'” she said. “This is literally like kissing my brother.”

However, Paltrow and Hudson did end their conversation on a more intriguing note, with Paltrow asking Hudson: “Is there a famous person that you’ve had a thing with that the world does not know about?”

“Yeah. Doesn’t everybody? If they said no, they’re lying,” Hudson replied. “Come on… It’s amazing the things you do get away with.”
