If you’ve had your finger on the Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck pulse since the early ’00s, then you’re aware of the latter’s penchant for appearing in his girlfriend’s music videos.
And now, Affleck has seemingly made another surprising cameo, in the latest music video for Lopez’s ballad “Marry Me” from her film of the same name.
A music video for the hit song was released on March 12, but fans were quick to point out a mysterious male figure who appears throughout. While we never see his face, it’s fairly easy to figure out that it’s Lopez’s real-life beau, Affleck.
Showing moments from the superstar’s everyday life, from her time at home to clips of the musician recording in the studio, she’s even spotted alongside her rom-com co-star, Maluma.
One moment in particular sees the 52-year-old cuddling and giggling in bed with Affleck, however, we can only see the back of his head. The singer can also be seen reaching out to Affleck’s outstretched arm, again with the Good Will Hunting actor’s face just out of frame. Check out the clip below.
Of course, this isn’t the first time that Affleck has made an appearance in one of jLo’s music videos. Fans of the couple will remember that he first made an onscreen appearance alongside Lopez in her 2002 music video for “Jenny From The Block”.
While, yes, his latest cameo was easy to miss, it shows the world a sweeter moment between the two and how developed their relationship has become since getting back together.
And while most were smitten by their onscreen appearance, fans have shared their investigations over his involvement. Not only do they feel it’s cryptic that his second music video stint has been on a song with Lopez about marriage, but he has previously opened up about how she was the only one who ever made him want to be married. So, make of that what you will.
Fans would also realise that this release would come only one month after Affleck shared his own music video for another song in the film, as an early Valentine’s Day gift to Lopez.
The 49-year-old actor created a personalised version of the “On My Way” video, which included footage from the couple’s romance between 2002 and 2004.
In her On the JLo newsletter, Lopez shared the video with her fans and referred to it as “very special and personal.”
“Watching it made me think about the journey of true love, its unexpected twists and turns, and that when it’s real, it actually can last forever. This seriously melted my heart,” she said.
Romances in Hollywood may be fleeting, but it’s safe to say that we’ve got our fingers crossed that these two go the distance.
