As if the absurdly expensive property market didnโt need another potential drawcard, Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth are moving to Sydney. The acting-fitness power couple and their family have long been staples in the Byron Bay bubble of celebrities. Chrisโ brother Liam Hemsworth and fellow actor Zac Efron also call the beachy locale home.
โByron has been beautiful,โ Elsa told Sydney Morning Herald. โWe made the right decision in 2014 to leave LA and come to Australiaโitโs been great for the kids to be in nature, enjoy animals and go horse riding.โ
Elsa and Chris first left the Californian beaches of Los Angeles to Byron Bay in 2014, with their kids, India Rose, Sasha, and Tristan.
Now, the family are moving back to Sydney. The seachange is ostensibly to send the kids to school but we wouldnโt be surprised if Marvel Studios moving their production headquarters to Sydney for five years also had something to do with it.
Chris is currently filming Marvelโs Thor: Love And Thunder at Sydneyโs Fox Studios, part of the fourth phase of Marvelโs expansive superhero universe. Based on the โ80s-themed party photos, it looks like theyโre having an excellent time.
โItโs a whole new experience,โ Elsa said of living in Sydney to shoot her upcoming film Interceptor (Chris is executive producing the action-flick). โWe are loving being in the city and the kids will go to school here.โ
Donโt worry though, their million-dollar mansion in Byron Bay wonโt be lying empty. โI canโt dress down as much as I do in Byron Bay, [but] we hope to get back there on the weekends.โ
The Spanish actress also noted that, while she loves her home country, a move back there is not quite on the cards. โThey always ask me when Iโll come back to Spain,โ she shared about her family.
โI tell them, one day. I do love Spain but love Australia so much, and to be able to work here is also amazing. Australians have adopted me and I feel loved by themโwe have a similar sense of humour. All the Spanish people who come here love it.โ
