Celebrities are notoriously private, meaning we hardly get to see new photos — and we almost never get to see them all dressed up and looking straight at us. Outside of award season, celebrities are like animals in the wild. Spot them when you can! So when they appear in high fashion campaigns, we are seriously happy.
But apart from the usual faces (Elle Fanning, Kendall Jenner and Cate Blanchett spring to mind), there are sometimes the off-kilter, unexpected faces that appear fronting some of our favourite brands. They might be a long lost supermodel, a favourite movie star or an unexpected singer, but they impress none-the-less. Below, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite instances — from Jude Law’s 2017 stint modelling for Prada to Keanu Reeves’ Saint Laurent debut this month.
Helena Bonham Carter for Marc Jacobs, 2011
Tobey Maguire for Prada Menswear, 2011
Bette Midler for Marc Jacobs, 2016
Boy George for Dior, 2017
Millie Bobby Brown for Calvin Klein, 2017
Jude Law for Prada Menswear, 2017
Brooke Shields for Calvin Klein, 1980
Ali McGraw for Chanel, 2019
Keanu Reeves for Saint Laurent, 2019
