Fans of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston may need to sit down for today’s latest celebrity news. The former couple, last seen together at the 2020 SAG Awards following two decades of avoiding one another at award shows and red carpets, have reportedly been spotted hanging out once again—and thanks to super-sleuth fans, there’s evidence.
On February 3, celebrity gossip account—or ‘curators of pop culture’—@deuxmoi received several tips reporting that Aniston is currently filming the second season of Apple TV+ series The Morning Show on the same lot where Brad Pitt is filming his latest movie, Bullet Train—which he stars in alongside Lady Gaga.
Deuxmoi shared an image that Aniston had previously posted to her Instagram Story, where she can be seen playing with her dog, Clyde, presumably in her trailer. But, it’s not the adorable pup or Aniston’s forever iconic hair that has fans intrigued, it’s what was spotted in the background that’s truly telling.
Behind Aniston, fans spotted a man lying on what appears to be the ground, but only his chest down is visible.
Of course, fans have concluded that it must be Pitt (and honestly it does look like it).
Although, we shouldn’t get excited too quickly, other fans suggested the man in question could be a member of the crew considering the tag around his arm.
An anonymous source claiming to work on the Apple TV+ series replied to Deuxmoi, writing: “I’m 99% positive that’s the line producers assistant.”
It’s not too farfetched to think that Aniston and Pitt would be hanging out, considering the former ’90s It-couple appeared on-screen together for the first time in 19 years in 2020, joining a slew of A-listers for a live table read of the classic film, Fast Times At Ridgemont High.
The star-studded virtual table reading of the 1982 film not only starred Aniston, but also Julia Roberts, Matthew McConaughey, Henry Golding, Shia LaBeouf, and Morgan Freeman—and of course, Pitt.
The pair were also famously seen together at the 2020 SAG Awards, after Aniston won Best Female Actor in a Drama Series for The Morning Show. Running into each other backstage, they shared a warm embrace and seemed genuinely happy to see each other and congratulate one another on their awards, since Pitt had also won Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role for Once Up a Time… in Hollywood.
Pitt and Aniston met back in 1998 and tied the knot in 2000. The only time that the pair have ever acted alongside each other was when Pitt guest-starred on an episode of Friends, which aired in November 2001. However, the couple later split in January 2005 and finalised their divorce in October of the same year.
But before we get ahead of ourselves, dreaming of a romantic reconciliation, a source told ET that they’re just good friends. “Brad and Jen are very good friends. Neither of them are seeing anyone else seriously but as of right now they’re just friends,” the source adds. “Brad has grown so much in his life since he and Jen broke up.”
