She may not have walked away with Locky Gilbert’s final rose, but Bella Varelis hasn’t slowed down since her time on The Bachelor.
This week, the former reality star took to Instagram to unveil a brand new look, saying goodbye to her signature brunette locks for something a little lighter.
The 26-year-old took to social media on February 5 to debut the transformation, which shows her look completely different than her time on the Channel Ten dating franchise.
“Been contemplating growing out my natural and dark again, but we went lighter and I’m in love,” she captioned the video.
Hairdresser Frankie Flanagan and her sustainable salon, Adilla Colab, were behind the bold new ‘do.
The debut of her new locks comes after Bella decided to take some time away from social media, after being called out by Instagram account @Celeb_SpellCheck for using Russian influencer Ekaterina Mezenova’s photo as her own.
“Gave myself a small social media detox the last couple days and geez it gives you a lot of time to think,” she wrote. “I’ve never had a year that has been more of an emotional roller coaster than this year and scrolling through my camera roll today really put me through the motions.
“I’m so proud of the human I am becoming, a woman who is unapologetically herself and who will stand her ground when it comes to knowing what she’s worth.”
She went on to thank her followers for their “love and support”, adding that she wished there was a way to “give it back to every single one of you.”
Aside from ditching her brunette hair in favour of sandy blonde, Bella debuted a brand new tattoo to fans in December 2020.
While enjoying a Bryon Bay holiday with some of her girlfriends to celebrate her birthday, the social media influencer revealed that she’d had a tiny butterfly design inked behind her ear—a dedication to her late grandfather who passed away that same year.
During filming for The Bachelor, psychic Alison Maiden told Bella that spirits can show themselves as butterflies and the 26-year-old confessed that “ever since he passed they’ve been coming up almost every day.”
“The meaning behind this one goes deep,” she captioned her post. “I love it so much @gabdeer.”
Bella rose to fame on Locky Gilbert’s season of The Bachelor, where she placed runner-up behind Irena Srbinovska.
