Why You Should Wear Lipstick This September

If you nude-addicts ever needed an excuse to try bold new lip colors, that excuse is here: September.

Why You Should Wear Lipstick This September

September is home to two great campaigns raising awareness for women’s mental health and cancer. Finally, a reason to splurge on new cosmetics (like we ever needed one).

Liptember aims to raise fund awareness for women’s mental health by selling a vibrant range of lippies (available for $4.95 from Chemist Warehouse, My Chemist and My Beauty Spot). Participants are encouraged to fundraise by registering online as individuals or in a team and wearing lipstick for a day, week or the whole month of September. You can find more info here! If you’re not a fan of lipstick, you can still help out by purchasing one of the super cute pieces of Liptember merchandise from their online store.

On the 23rd of September, two annual celebrations of lipstick crossover, with Bright Pink Lipstick Day taking place. The Pink Hope campaign also encourages women to don lipstick for the day and to sign up to host a fundraiser. Funds raised will be “ invested in critical lifesaving programs and support services to ensure individuals can assess, understand and manage their risk of break and ovarian cancer.” Find out more here.

To help us get in the mood for Liptember and Bright Pink Lipstick Day we have compiled a list of our favourite iconic celebrity lipsticks moments.
