Love or loathe her, there’s one thing that you can’t deny, The Duchess of Cambridge always has princess-perfect hair.
Those luscious brunette locks are the envy of so many, always glossy, always perfectly styled and never a split end in sight.
However lately it seems perhaps Kate is bored of the same old look. Something that happens to the best of us.
When the mood strikes, most of us can head on down to the hairdresser and get them to dye your hair an array of different colours (rose gold anyone?), chop it all off, get extensions, balyage, highlights, low lights, a perm, whatever your heart desires.

But when you’re royalty, and we’re only guessing here, but we’re going to go ahead and assume there’s some sort of protocol one must go through in order to drastically change one’s appearance.
Some sort of pitch process that goes directly to the Queen for approval. And more often than not, we bet the answer is a big fat no. She runs a tight ship.
So while we don’t anticipate seeing Kate undergo a major hair transformation any time soon, we don’t doubt that she feels the desire for a change as much as the rest of us.
Which is why we’re guessing we’ve seen her experimenting with some rather obscure hair accessories of late. You’ve got to get your kicks somewhere, right.
Cast your mind back to July 2016, when the Internet lost its mind over the leopard print headband Kate wore to an air show in Gloucestershire.
Was she merely a busy mum keeping her hair off her face, or was she rocking a trend she’d seen hot off the autumn/winter runways?
Then we had the hair claws holding back two twists of hair during the royal tour of Canada in September that gave us major noughties flashbacks.
You know you had them in *every* colour.
Next up it was an accessory so subtle that you probably missed it – but thankfully us Kate obsessives beauty experts sure didn’t.
At first, we couldn’t help but wonder how the Duchess managed to look so polished all day long during her first solo international trip back in October, having flown from England to The Netherlands (on economy, mind you) and hop from event to event all day long without even so much as a hair out of place.
Well, it turns out she borrowed a trick from your grandma; she was actually wearing a hairnet.
And she stepped out using the trusty trick again today for a memorial service on April 5.
Just when you think surely there’s no more tricky trends she hasn’t tried, back in October she went and stepped out in a style, so far buried in the depths of our memories that we truly thought we’d never see again.
Behold: The Duchess of Cambridge rocking a Topsy Tail.
We wonder if Kate is still using one she held on to from the 90s, or maybe she picked up a new one.
Either way we can’t wait to see what she steps out in next – the options really are endless….
