Serena Williams may be a tennis extraordinaire with twenty-three grand slam titles to her name, but as much as she demands attention on court for her powerful forehand and one-of-a-kind outfit choices, Williams also knows how to make a statement away from the tennis court. Case in point: her latest hair transformation.
Stepping out to attend the Sports Illustrated Fashionable Fit party in Los Angeles, Williams made a case for blonde hair, debuting golden ombré highlights, which we must admit is a slight departure from the record-breakers natural black roots. Nevertheless Williams pulled it off thanks to the help of celebrity stylist Vernon François, swapping her vivacious curls for big, loose layered waves.
While Williams’ new hair was undoubtedly the highlight (pun intended) of the night, her standout style didn’t take a backseat. The athlete and fashion designer kept it simple in a chic white tank top and camel patent leather skirt paired with flawless makeup.
This isn’t the first time the 37-year-old has dared to go lighter with her locks. Williams is known for regularly traversing between her signature dark brown hair and that of a lighter hue multiple times throughout her illustrious career.
Serena, you keep killin’ it.
