Sandra Bullock’s beauty and anti-ageing routine is skincare gold, if her eternally ageless visage is anything to go by.
As one of Hollywood’s most reputable actresses, the Ocean’s 8 star falls into the category of Hollywood veterans that have barely aged since the beginning of their careers—and in some cases, have literally aged backwards. Think Jennifer Lopez, Reese Witherspoon, Angela Bassett and Jennifer Aniston, to name just a few.
For those looking to appear 20 years younger than their actual age, here’s exactly how the 54-year-old Academy Award winner (and mother of two) does it.
What Is Sandra Bullock’s Anti-Ageing Routine?
While many are quick to critique Hollywood actresses for employing anti-ageing fillers and Botox, Bullock has said she prefers natural methods to maintaining her youthful appearance—and that the rumours she’d had fillers earlier in 2018 caused a dent in her ego.
Bullock told InStyle: “This past Oscars [2018] I was sick and had allergies, but I was like, ‘I’m just going to go.’ It’s part of my job, and I’m happy to be there. Then the next day they were saying, ‘Oh, she has cheek fillers and implants.'”
Though she claims to avoid fillers, Bullock is often experimental with the skincare methods she chooses—and confessed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that her and Ocean’s 8 co-star Cate Blanchett have sampled the Epidermal Growth Factor facial by celebrity facialist Georgia Louise.
If that doesn’t sound familiar, it’s actually more commonly dubbed the ‘penis facial’ due to its resemblance to certain male fluids.
Bullock’s facialist Georgia Louise told People that the unique facial treatment involves: “a deep cleansing and long-lasting facial glow.”
Louise said: “I wanted to give [Bullock] something that would transform her skin without the need to undergo lasers, so I loaded up her bespoke facial with something that would give her long-lasting results. I have text threads which would blow your mind from celebrities, asking for the ‘penis treatment’ all the time now!” The Sandra effect is working, it seems.
Louise also serves a facialist for the Victoria’s Secret Angels before their annual fashion show appearances, so there’s no doubting that the unconventional skincare method is effective. However, considering Louise’s treatments aren’t available in Australia, her signature products are the next best thing—and are shoppable from her website (georgialouise.com).
On the recent promotional tour for her new Netflix film Bird Box, Bullock’s co-star Trevante Rhodes said the actress rises at 5am every day to exercise. According to PopSugar and Women’s Health, Bullock works with celebrity trainer Simone De La Rue, whose workouts place significant emphasis on cardio and core workouts as well as weights and pilates.
Some of De La Rue’s favourite tools to use with Bullock are skipping ropes, resistance bands and pilates balls, and that her workouts are varied and different every time.
PopSugar also revealed that Bullock favours lean proteins in her diet, similar to stars like Kim Kardashian West and Gigi Hadid. Emirates Woman also reports that Bullock sticks to her lean diet for six days a week, but allows herself a single day to indulge on sweets, chocolate and the like.
It makes plenty of sense that a balanced diet (and avoiding all kinds of artificial sugars) would contribute in spades to maintaining that face.
