Six Times Robyn Lawley Kept It Gloriously Real And Filter Free

'cos perfection is overrated

After being told she was both ‘too big and too tall’, Australian model Robyn Lawley has silenced her critics for more than a decade through peak personal success, not only racking up magazine covers and fronting major campaigns, but also shaking up her own industry by taking big brands to task for their lack of inclusivity.

Speaking on the Finding Fearless with marie claire podcast this week, she reflected that growing up with ‘tall, strong women around really helped motivate acceptance for myself, so I wanted to be that for other girls’.

In the age of filters, facetune, and lets-be-honest, a lot of fakeness, there is something so refreshing about a woman who is using her platform to keep it real. Here are six times Robyn was completely real and relatable, and proved again and again she’s more ‘us’ than plus.

1. When she got real about life as a working mum (stretch marks and all)

2. When she totally understood how hard it is to do your own make-up

3. When she needed a drink after a long day advocating for inclusivity (thirsty work we’re sure)

4. When she got real about her health struggles

5. When she confirmed on our podcast that she was more ‘us’ than ‘plus’

6. When she couldn’t find a bikini that flattered her curves (so she decided to make one)
