Out of all the beauty products in my (embarrassingly extensive) arsenal, mascara features the most heavily. It’s the one product I’d never leave the house without, no exceptions; while I’ll happily forgo bronzer, highlighter, eyeliner – pretty much everything else – when I’m in a rush, mascara is non-negotiable.
But when I started to dabble in natural beauty products, I never expected to find a nasties-free mascara that would do the job as well as say, my beloved Too Faced Better Than Sex. Or Shu Uemura’s Tokyo Lash. Or Smith & Cult Lash Dance (all firm faves).
But that I have: Bare Minerals Lash Domination Volumising Mascara. It’s free from parabens, phthalates and sulphates, which is my new beauty MO, but don’t let that fool you – this is one natural (or at least, slightly more natural) mascara that can compete with the big guns in terms of its volumising and lengthening capabilities and staying power.
True story: I’ve had more people ask if I’ve had lash extensions than I can count on both hands.
I’ve been using it for the better part of this year and have found it to volumise without overdoing it – making it suitable for day wear – and no clumping to speak of.
To continue my hard sell (#notsponsored), it also contains a quinoa protein complex to nourish your lashes as you wear it (bonus points in my opinion) and it’s only $27.
So if you’re looking to minimise your paraben/phthalate/sulphate load without sacrificing killer lashes, I couldn’t recommend this beauty high enough.
