The colour is called oxblood, and although the name doesn’t exactly scream beauty, the shade itself is chic personified.
It’s actually been around for a while – in fact we’ve been wearing it on our nails for a few seasons now (as an alternative to black) – but this is the first time we’ve seen it en masse on celebs.
The lip colour was originally spotted at the AW16 shows with Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton, Marni and Max Mara, all presenting the look.
So the only question left is… will you be wearing it this winter? If you dare, we suggest keeping the rest of your look pared back, with clean luminous skin and a hint of mascara to keep you from crossing over into goth territory.
