When you’re packing for a trip as big as, say, an official tour of four countries, your luggage is a huge part of the organisation when it comes to managing clothes, hair, make-up, etc.

We’ve snuck a peek at the make-up bag Meghan took with her and boy, it is GOOD. But first, a little backstory.

By now we’re all aware that Meghan’s good friend and MUA Daniel Martin was behind her make-up look for the royal wedding back in May.

Martin has recently launched his own (dreamy) vanity case with fashion label Cuyana, and it’ll have you questioning everything you thought you knew about make-up storage. Spoiler alert: ‘I actually gave Meghan and Harry this bag before their trip,’ he revealed in a recent interview.

So, why do we keep wanging on about how great these bags are? We’ll let Martin explain in his own words.

“A lot of girls I know carry bags that don’t fit their foundation. Or if it does, it’s laying on its side or it’s in a flimsy kind of case,” he explained to Allure. “So I took my Dior Undercover Foundation, which is a pretty standard height for foundation, and measured it from that.

“If the bottle could stand tall, then you could fit a lot more things into the bag. I wanted to create a bag that you could put your full face in, that’s foundation, concealer, bronzer or blush, a small eyeshadow quad, and lipsticks.”

The bags have a larger base to make sure things can stand up properly, a removable inside wallet and come in five different colours. But they’re not just great for make-up, they’re perfect for skincare and grooming products, too (hence why Harry also has one).

“For guys, our stuff tends to be a bit bigger, whether it’s a deodorant stick or a cleanser. So I really thought about how versatile this bag could be, regardless of what you want to put in it.
