Margot Robbie Is Bringing Back Princess Diana’s Favourite Make-Up Trend At The BAFTAs

Acceptable in the '80s

When it comes to make-up, Margot Robbie never plays it safe. Case in point: her penchant for glitter and vibrant orange eyeshadow. The Chanel ambassador and her go-to make-up artist Pati Dubroff have become our favourite beauty trailblazers.

Cue her latest look at 2019 BAFTAs: electric blue eyeliner. Expectedly, the ‘80s-approved look was masterfully created by Pati, who used modern blue hues to line Margot’s eyes in addition to lashings of blue mascara.

The bold trend might feel very now yet, the first blonde to make headlines with moody blue rimmed eyes was, of course, Princess Diana. Pati paid tribute to the late royal while sharing her mood board, which also featured looks from the Chanel runway.

The key to nailing this high-impact make-up look is creating a luminous base. Before applying any product Pati preps the skin with a hydrating sheet mask, Pati told W Magzine. Then she uses a facial massage roller to keep puffiness and dullness at bay. “When I start with someone, almost always I do a sheet mask and tailor it to their needs. More often than not, it’s usually a 111Skin Mask. I also massage the face with the ReFa tools, which makes a big difference”, she explains.

For the rest of Margot’s BAFTAs look, Dubroff opted for a full-coverage matt base, barely-there pink cheeks, and lips before finishing with bold brushed up brows.
