Sydney’s glitterati have descended on the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) to celebrate the ingenuity of L’Oréal Paris’ wide range of products. On this night of nights, the MCA was turned into a lab-style environment, pipettes and all, to showcase the level of scientific work that goes into making products from the brand’s hair, skin and makeup collections.
The event, which was headlined by L’Oréal Paris ambassador Jessica Mauboy, was an opportunity to move away from the ‘virality’ of beauty trends and instead zoom in on the work behind the scenes that creates high-performance products.
One of the key highlights was the buzz around the L’Oréal Paris 12% Vitamin C Serum. The product was formulated through the L’Oréal Paris Lab and is the highest concentrated Vitamin C skincare product they have on the market.
For those who don’t already know, Vitamin C is a skin saviour and the perfect addition to any morning routine. The potent vitamin is a known antioxidant, which can help with skin clarity, reducing pigmentation, enhancing radiance, and even improving skin texture.
L’Oréal Paris’ specific formulation is packed full of Vitamin C, but also contains other skin-loving ingredients, such as Vitamin E for nourishment. The formula also contains salicylic acid, a type of BHA (beta-hydroxy acid) that is widely lauded by dermatologists for acne-prone skin.
Concentration is important when it comes to active ingredients, because an overly diluted formula will not offer the same end results. The 12% concentration of this product is a real premium standard to put to market, especially priced in at the $60 mark.
Elisabeth Bouhandana, L’Oréal Paris Global Scientific Director, said: “As a brand steeped in the highest levels of science, it was a pleasure to introduce our much-loved Australian brand ambassadors and our guests to our most advanced beauty formulations, designed to make people feel the most confident version of themselves.
“Across the world, we are seeing customers approach beauty, skincare and haircare with a real scientific curiosity and it was amazing to bring this intrigue to life through our Lab where they could see firsthand the science and innovation behind L’Oréal Paris.”
Another product that went through the lab is the now viral L’Oréal Paris Telescopic mascara. This popular product provides long-lasting lash curl, yet it is still really easy to remove at the end of the day. This translates to no smudging or flaking, while also not having to pull at the delicate skin around the eyes to remove it.
Of course, these products simply add to a very long history of cult products, including the True Match Foundation (offered in 40 shades) and the brilliant Revitalift Filler 2.5 Percent Hyaluronic Acid Eye Serum that has been pictured in just about every skincare influencer’s makeup routine as their go-to eye serum.
We can’t wait to see what L’Oréal Paris will concoct next in their iconic lab.
