The Internet Is Slating Kylie Jenner’s New Skin Care Line And It Hasn’t Even Launched Yet

Here's why

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that Kylie Jenner is launching a skin care range, which is, of course, named Kylie Skin.

Fans have been waiting with bated breath for the range since October last year, when a blogger who goes by the alias Trademark Ninja reported that Kylie had applied for Kylie Skin by Kylie Jenner’ and ‘Kylie Skin’ trademarks.

And now, the wait is almost over, with the first additions to the range set to drop on 22 May.

But rather than their arrival being heralded with pure excitement as anticipated, the launch of Kylie Skin has been marked with controversy, all thanks to the inclusion of a walnut facial scrub.

Eek!

Walnut scrubs have long been considered a no-no by many in the beauty industry (especially for those with sensitive skin) due to their harsh, physical exfoliating action.

A few years ago, a class action was brought against St. Ives in which the plaintiffs alleged that the St. Ives Apricot Scrub caused microscopic tears in the skin. However, the judge found that there was a lack of evidence to support the claims and the action was dismissed.

But since then, many have chosen to err on the side of caution when it comes to harsh scrubs containing walnuts. And who even likes that scratch-your-face-off feeling anyway? Not us! That just can’t be doing good things to your skin.

So needless to say, the Internet isn’t impressed with this whole situation; in fact, we’d say it’s kinda mad… Many have taken to social media to slam the range, pointing out that scrubs containing crushed, and even powdered walnuts, are known to cause micro-tears in the skin.

Kylie has attempted to head-off the claims surrounding walnut scrubs in a YouTube video where she says “it’s really gentle, it’s gentle enough to use every day. I recommend two or three times a week, that’s how much I use it. Some walnut face scrubs are kinda harsh on the skin, it really leaves my skin feeling super baby soft, makes me look glowy, takes away dead skin cells.”

She then goes on to say, “my walnut face scrub is my secret to a fresh face”.

But Twitter had some thoughts on that too:

And okay, call us conspiracy theorists, but did anyone else notice how her eyes darted to the side while saying that? Isn’t that a telltale sign for when someone is lying, or feeling uncomfortable?

Yeah, we’re not buying it, sorry Kylie.
