Kim Kardashian Shuts Down Tabloid For Saying She Has Bad Skin

"It’s psoriasis all over my face"

Kim Kardashian isn’t here for people making fun of skin. The beauty mogul has been vocal about her struggle with psoriasis (an autoimmune skin condition) which she has been battling since 2011. Kim just took a tabloid publication to task over a headline which reads: “Makeup mogul suffers bad skin day in LA ahead of Master Class beauty seminar.”

Clapping back to the unnecessary headline by explaining that she was experiencing a flare-up of psoriasis, which is characterized by red, flaky (and sometimes itchy), patches on the skin. While there is a treatment for the condition it’s can also be extremely stubborn with flare-ups triggered by a number of factors, including stress.

While West has previously said in a post on her app that she’s just learned to embrace her psoriasis since her diagnosis, and “doesn’t really try to cover it that much anymore,” she tweeted asking her fans for help picking a medication. “I think the time has come I start medication for psoriasis,” she said. “I’ve never seen it like this before and I can’t even cover it at this point. It’s taken over my body.”

And given that it’s one of the most common autoimmune diseases in the world—affecting 7.5 million people in the United States alone—it’s nice that someone with such a large platform is consistently so open about struggling with it, and is another example of how talking about her insecurities makes Kim totally relatable.
