Simon Porte Jacquemus, the creative director and founder of LVMH Prize winning and highly coveted luxury French fashion label Jacquemus, is expanding his empire of desirable and enviable prêt-à-porter and accessories with a rumoured beauty line, in collaboration with preeminent Spanish brand Puig.
As first reported by WWD, it’s understood that Jacquemus is once again taking inspiration from the provincial Parisian countryside and countless lavender and wheat fields that has become synonymous with his effortlessly feminine brand for a potential beauty brand that emulates their sun seeking, hedonistic lifestyle.
Details on the new beauty launch are mostly under wraps at this stage, but there’s a couple of exciting anecdotes that’ve already been uncovered. Keep scrolling for everything you need to know about Jacquemus’ rumoured new beauty brand.
What Is Jacquemus Beauty?
Collaborating with Barcelona based beauty brand Puig, who is renowned for creating unique and highly desirable fragrances, makeup and dermo-cosmetics with the world’s best fashion houses, Jacquemus is reportedly releasing a perfume.
If the fandom surrounding their cult items, including the perennially stylish Le Chiquito, diaphanous Le Panier Soleil or ever-so-trendy coffee table book, is any guide, then we know this will be the scent of the season, bottling the beauty of the South of France for a sun-kissed spirit.
When Will Jacquemus Beauty Launch?
According to tight-lipped sources, the unconfirmed beauty line is slated to drop as early as 2022. Whilst we’re not a perfumer, nor even sure the range will entail a fragrance, we’re indulging in our deepest desires for an aquatic, subtly salty aroma reminiscent of the sand and sea.
What Will Jacquemus Beauty Involve?
Jacquemus’ geometric silhouettes may form the basis of the packaging of the range, with their signature structural designs and primary, pastel colour palette a welcome addition to any bathroom cabinet or makeup bag.
In the past, Jacquemus’ iconic fashion shows, most notably the recent Fall/Winter 2021 La Montagne collection showcase and jaw dropping Spring/Summer 2020 Le Coup de Soleil, has kept the beauty looks of their models quite minimal and au naturale in true French girl style, with sun spots, freckles and blemishes embraced rather than concealed.
At previous shows, Jacquemus even went so far as to spray tan lines onto their models in an effort to emulate the sun kissed look and feel of the maison. With the Jacquemus universe and endless expansion of fun and lightheartedness, the bounds of what Simon and his team could produce are endless. Hot fun in the summertime is here.
