But Immunocologie’s Vital Clay face mask, available exclusively from luxe UK e-tailer Cult Beauty, stands out from the pack. Although it launched last year, it’s now completely sold out – and attracted a waiting list of 3000 and counting – after the brand’s founder, Karen Ballou, appeared on US shopping channel QVC.

At £120 ($AUD206) the Vital Clay face mask doesn’t exactly come cheap, but the high quality ingredients list explains why. The mask is made with four types of purified earth clays, including raw French green clay, known for its healing and detoxifying properties.

The combination of clays delivers copper, magnesium, calcium and zinc to the skin to draw out impurities, clear pores and brighten the complexion. Plus, it promises not to dry out and crack on the skin like so many clay masks do.

The Immunocologie brand was founded after Ballou was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and wanted skincare that wasn’t filled with chemicals.
